Aristocrat has announced the resignation of Chief Technology Officer Andy Hendrickson, who will join an undisclosed competitor after nearly four years in the role. The company has initiated a leadership transition plan while continuing to expand its digital capabilities through new partnerships and strategic appointments.

Aristocrat has confirmed the resignation of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Andy Hendrickson, who will join a competitor later this year. Hendrickson, who took on the role in July 2021, has played a transformative role in driving Aristocrat’s technology strategy and digital expansion, notably through the development of its online and real-money gaming (RMG) divisions.

The company has implemented interim leadership arrangements while conducting an internal and external search for a permanent replacement. Hendrickson is expected to remain through a six-month notice period, ensuring a smooth transition.

“We thank Andy for his contribution to our business over the last four years and look forward to announcing his successor in due course,” said Trevor Croker, CEO and Managing Director of Aristocrat Leisure.

Hendrickson added:

“It has been an exciting journey at Aristocrat, and I'm proud of what we've accomplished. I'm confident in the team's continued success and the company's ongoing innovation.”

Digital Innovation Legacy

During Hendrickson’s tenure, Aristocrat underwent a significant technological transformation. He led advancements in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, and platform integration—enhancing player experience and operational agility. His efforts were also instrumental in expanding Anaxi, Aristocrat’s flagship RMG division.

Partnership Momentum Builds

Hendrickson’s departure coincides with a period of robust digital activity at Aristocrat. In March 2025, Aristocrat Interactive signed a key partnership with Incentive Games, enabling distribution of free-to-play and RMG titles via the Aristocrat operator network. This move broadens the company’s content portfolio and enhances its global appeal.

Other recent deals include:

  • A distribution agreement with Yggdrasil, expanding Aristocrat’s content into North America via the Ignite platform

  • A five-year contract with the Hungarian National Lottery through its iLottery content studio NeoGames.

Leadership Strengthening in Digital Divisions

Aristocrat Interactive recently appointed Nir Hakarmeli as Managing Director of iGaming & Sports. Formerly with Evoke and William Hill, Hakarmeli brings nearly 15 years of experience and is expected to play a crucial role in steering Aristocrat’s online gaming strategy.

What’s Next for Aristocrat?

While Hendrickson’s departure may present short-term operational adjustments, analysts point to Aristocrat’s strong digital infrastructure and deep talent pool as buffers against disruption. With new content partnerships, a clear innovation roadmap, and evolving executive leadership, Aristocrat is poised to maintain its growth momentum in a competitive gaming landscape.

The company has not yet specified a timeline for naming a permanent CTO but remains committed to delivering uninterrupted progress during this transitional phase.

Shares in Aristocrat Leisure Ltd (ASX:ALL) closed 1.60 per cent lower at AUD$67.10 per share in Sydney Thursday.
